It is very important to make sure your tree is staked. The reason for staking your tree is stop the roots from rocking. The head of the tree does not need strapping. It can move in the wind.
In order to do this you will need a stake and a strap. The strap needs to be check periodically to ensure its not cutting into the trunk of the tree.

Sometimes referred to as the White-barked Himalayan Birch, this tree is well known for its highly ornamental, brilliant creamy-white bark that peels each year to reveal a fresh layer underneath. It is a hardy, medium-sized with an open habit and pyramidal shape. Its oval, dark green leaves turn gold in autumn before falling.
