Hanging Baskets & Containers

This is the start of Summer, if you are re-using your own containers it is a good idea to throw away last year compost and replace it with fresh John Innes Compost.  The addition of water absorbing crystals and slow release fertiliser will make your job easier during the summer.

We have a fabulous display of summer flowers which are all Irish Grown, suitable for containers and hanging baskets including Trailing Begonia, Petunia, Geranium, Fuchsia, Verbena, Nepeta and Pansy to name but a few.

We also have a selection of ready-made Hanging Baskets & Containers for those of you who are short on time.

Slug Control

NEW Slug Gone Wool Pellets are a highly effective barrier against slugs and snails, it also contains naturally occurring slow release nutrients and helps retain moisture in the soil.
All you have to do is sprinkle the pellets around the plants you want to protect and then water. Not harmful to pets or children.

New Moss Treatment for your Lawn

We have a new organic Lawn Food in stock and not only does it feed the Lawn but it Kills the moss with no need to rake out later.  Call in and we will tell you more.

Fruit

The key to growing Strawberries is to regularly feed them with tomato food, this is high in potassium which encourages the plant to produce flowers which in turn means strawberries.  Keep removing excess leaves during the season as you only want the plant to produce lots of flowers. It is a good idea to replace your strawberry plants every 2 years. Keep all fruit well watered during dry spells to ensure good setting and fruit development.

Hedges

This is a great time to give your evergreen hedges a trim to get them looking neat and tidy. Make sure you check the hedge for any nesting birds before you go straight in and start chopping. Afterwards give the hedge feed with a granular fertiliser and water.

We have a new display of sheds, pop in for a look.
