Phyllostachys 'Nigra'

Phyllostachys 'nigra' is an attractive, evergreen bamboo that grows to about 16 feet in Ireland, making a strong architectural statement in the garden. It has arching, green stems that become shiny purple-black with age. It looks best planted as a single specimen.
