'Lutescens' is a medium-sized, columnar, deciduous tree, although it does spread with age, eventually forming a nice, rounded habit. The oval leaves emerge silver in spring, becoming a distinctive grey-green as the season progresses and finally turn yellow in autumn. It bears creamy-white flowers in May which are a great source of nector for pollinators. These are followed by orange-red berries.
